Human Mosaic Systems offers the ability to administer your company's presence in Second Life. We also are able to host conferences, meetings, and events, as well as to conduct workshops, and immersive learning experiences in Second Life.

We offer a variety of Complex Human Systems Courses in both a traditional environment as well as the immersive learning environment or virtual world of Second Life.

Complex Human Systems Courses 
   
 

In an age of global interconnectivity, Complex Human Systems are increasingly important for organizational success. Skills that enhance interpersonal communication through understanding oneself and others, complex dynamics, multiple views of reality, small group dynamics, making decisions in complex environments with an understanding of emergent properties,  facilitating self-organizing groups to move through complex environments, and pattern recognition enable people and organizations to be flexible and adaptable in this ever-changing complex environment.

Innovation Through Lateral Connections

Recognizes that many advances in civilization and the sciences occur when people, either singly or in groups, have an a-ha moment and realize how to apply advances in one discipline to another discipline. The course provides both theory and examples to illuminate the approach. Innovation through lateral connections is relevant to the social sciences, gaming, economics, engineering, and the physical sciences.

Approximate Calculation

Develops skills to perform back of the envelope calculations based on making plausible assumptions and deriving simple models. This course has applicability in situations where a rough in the ballpark answer is needed given limited resources (time and money). Approximate calculation also has value in cases where there is a solution but it is unknowable or not measurable. The course provides both theory and examples to illuminate the approach. Approximate calculation is relevant to the social sciences, gaming, economics, engineering, and the physical sciences.

Network Theory

Applies the new, emerging theory of networks to the organization and operation of biological, sociological, and human-designed systems. Network theory is based on the mathematics of graph theory. Topics include the phenomena of six degrees of separation, small worlds, the organization of the Internet, the power law of networks, and scale-free networks. Network theory is applicable to the biological sciences, social sciences, gaming, economics, engineering, and the physical sciences.
